The major energy user in most buildings is the heating, ventilating, and
air conditioning (HVAC) system. Energy Systems, Inc. designs and builds
thermal envelope (insulation, etc.) and HVAC systems for buildings.
This "systems" approach is trademarked as the SYNERGY system.
Measured energy use of the HVAC system in SYNERGY
systems seldom exceeds twenty-five (25) cents per square foot per year
on homes and commercial buildings.* Compared to current energy-saving
practices, approximate savings on a home is twenty-five (25) cents per
square foot per year. For a 2,000-square foot home, this means a savings of $500.00 per year.
Energy cost savings are much greater on
commercial buildings. Savings exceeding fifty (50) cents per
square foot per year have consistently resulted from using the SYNERGY
System in office buildings, health spas, senior citizens centers, and
several group residences. Comparative savings on health spas and some
office buildings have exceeded $1.00 per square foot per year.
*Measured in areas with the following approximate conditions:
| 3,500
degree-days heating |
$.06 per
kwh electrical costs |
| 1,000
degree-days cooling |
$.55 per
THERM natural gas rates |
